That Wanaka Tree by Farhat Memon
This particular trip to South Island, New Zealand was specifically to photograph the world famous Wanaka Tree at Lake Wanaka. I had arrived at the lake front at 6:00 am and it was freezing cold. The weather was meant to be just right with enough clouds to reflect the rising sun and thus, I expected many photographers here. So the early arrival was absolutely essential to get the best possible angle. I stayed here until about 9:00, seeing the colours and landscape change as the sun rose higher and higher. In spite of the rush and constant push and pull amongst the many photographers, this is still my favourite place to be for an early morning shoot.
