Kristian Bertel began his photography in 2006. He is a photographer that is most widely known for his series of Indian images, which started as a long term project on India in 2008. His passion is travel photography, but he is also interested in telling stories together with his photography for instance about human aspects in India concerning life conditions of its inhabitants, poverty in the cities and in the countryside and street children in the streets. Kristian’s photograph A Gypsy Girl in Dharavi awarded in the Photo of the Day Award in the category of Portraiture Photography, as it scored a solid 70 (Value 13, Clarity 13, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5. The number of organic and total social share along with the organic reach and comments boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 8.1 from social media (Organic Share 3.40, Total Share 4.35, Organic Reach/View 0.35, and Comments 0), and in total 78.1, the highest score in this competition for the 80th Month. This photograph is the winner of Photograph of the Month – 80th Month, 1st Place.

Based on the social media responses and comments, awarded photographs received on the 80th month, we set the maximum number of Organic Social Share at 500, Total Social Share at 1000, Organic Reach 1000, and our subscribers Comments at 50. For this month, we had a head-to-head contest between the top scorers and the photographs that scored the highest became winners of the Photo of the Month. Poverty, by Ryszard Wierzbicki
Ryszard Wierzbicki was born in 1963. Graduated with a Master degree of Social Sciences in Children Care Education from University of Gdańsk in 1992 in Poland. He worked in an orphanage and four other companies, going through positions of Educator, Marketing Specialist and Sales & Marketing Manager in various branches (child care, dentistry, orthodontics and IT). Apart of his regular jobs he continued developing his Scuba Diving qualification resulted of an instructor level in PADI. Emigrated to UK in 2006, from where he started his real traveling & photography experience and exploration of South-East Asia. Ryszard’s photograph Poverty awarded in the Photo of the Day Award in the category of Portraiture Photography, as it scored a solid 68.5 (Value 13, Clarity 13, Composition 18, Style 12.5, Skill 12) from our international jury of 5. The number of organic and total social share along with the organic reach and comments boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 6.625 from social media (Organic Share 2.82, Total Share 3.21, Organic Reach/View 0.485, and Comments 0), and in total 75.125, the second highest score in this competition for the 80th Month. 3rd Place | Photo of the Month | 80th Month
The Paddyfield Pipit, by Saniar Rahman Rahul
Saniar Rahman Rahul was the first winner for ‘Photo of the Month Award’ in June 2010. He was fascinated by seeing his father taking pictures with a camera while his family was in Iraq during his childhood. Later in life, in 1997, while he became very much attached with his profession of ‘graphic design’, Rahul rediscovered the creative side of photography. Saniar’s photograph The Paddyfield Pipit, in the category of Wildlife Photography scored a solid 67 (Value 12, Clarity 12.5, Composition 18, Style 12, Skill 12.5) from our international jury of 5. The number of organic and total social share along with the organic reach and comments boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 6.245 from social media (Organic Share 2.62, Total Share 3.43, Organic Reach/View 0.195, and Comments 0), and in total 73.745, the third highest score in this competition for the 79th Month. This photograph is also the winner of Photograph of the Month – 80th Month, 3rd Place.
