Light Means Happiness, by Anjan Patra

In North India, one of the popular festival is Karwa Chauth, which is celebrated by all married women for their husband’s safety and longevity. In this festival woman breaks whole day fast and offers prayer to moon with their diya (oil lamp). Once their prayers were done they left and I rushed towards the ground to capture light which was coming from the diyas (oil lamps) that they kept over there. But to my surprise, I was not alone. There were street children who reached in the lonely ground before me and started to play with the brightness as they don’t had anything else to play. The brightness reflected their joyful expression and innocence which I stored it forever.
