The Way of Light by Kirsten Bruening

Someone once asked me, what makes a good black and white photograph for you? To me, good black and white photography means a perfect interplay of light and shadow, of contrasts, a symphony of different shades of gray. A good black and white photograph should captivate the viewer. It doesn’t matter if it’s a portrait, a landscape shot, or an architecture photo. Black and white photography is art and should be understood and considered as such. A good black and white photo is never just a photo, it is the expression of the photographer. His personal footprint in the world of photography.

Kirsten Bruening is an amateur photographer and lives near Cologne. Her passion for photography started in her childhood and she spent many years exploring analogue photography. After a long break of fifteen years, she returned to photography. She loves black and white photography in nature, portraiture, and wildlife.
