Reading to Teddy by Leanne Lindsay
Family gatherings hum with joy, but on this particular day, a scene in the living room stopped me in my tracks. There, bathed in the warm glow of the late afternoon sun streaming through the open doorway, sat my precious granddaughter, barely two years old. In all her innocent charm, she wasn’t just playing; she was weaving a world of wonder, reading aloud to her cherished teddy bear. The way the sunlight kissed her wispy baby hair, casting her and her furry friend in perfect silhouette, was pure magic. The image instantly became a story etched in light. It spoke of childhood dreams, unspoken bonds, and the precious fleeting moments that make family gatherings so special. In that moment, with the camera shutter whispering a silent click, I couldn’t help but wish to freeze time. To keep her forever at this innocent, curious age, where imagination reigned and her love for her teddy knew no bounds. This photo, now titled “Reading to Teddy” became a reminder to cherish these little moments, for they grow up oh-so-fast.

Born in Adelaide in 1962, Leanne Lindsay’s family moved to Sydney when she was 12 years old. She was gifted her first camera for her 21st birthday but a break-in saw her precious camera stolen just 3 years later. It was only in her late 50s she was able to afford to replace it and now in her 60s she has discovered a passion that was sadly lost many years ago. She now photographs families and newborns but enjoys architectural photography and landscapes in particular.
