Cathedrals of the Rails by Wilfried Claus
Leipzig station is the largest terminus station in Europe in terms of area. 23 tracks are located under the huge roof made of steel and glass. The station was once described as a "cathedral for the railway". Despite the heavy iron construction, the steel frame looks almost filigree and the glass roof lets in so much light from the midday sun that long shadows are created on the platforms.
Shopping Promenade Leipzig Station by Wilfried Claus
Leipzig station is one of the most beautiful and consumer-friendly train stations in Europe. With a façade length of 298m and a covered floor area of 83640sqm, the station building is one of the largest in Europe. A glance into the transverse platform hall shows the generosity of the architecture: space for a three-storey promenade shopping centre, as there are over 130 shops and restaurants under the large arcade arches.
Spiral by Jack Hoye
This image was captured with my Apple iPhone at the Art Gallery Of Ontario, or AGO, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. AGO features a grand wooden spiral staircase in the shape of an artful helix. I was intruiged by the natural light, composition, and shape of the staircase as I walked from the bottom to the top. This photo showcases views of this architectural feat from within the staircase looking upwards.
