En Route by Mira Joshi
Anyone who is keen on photography knows how the little things make all the difference. Landscapes, portraits and architecture is not the only subjects that make a pretty picture. A good photograph is made with a good balanced subject. It could be a grass blade, a broken glass window or even a messy desk. Once you choose what you like the play with light makes it look dramatic or plain jane.
This particular picture was shot on holiday with my family. Kids are ever so free spirited and as adults we tend to forget to sometimes just let go. It was that feeling of freedom that I wanted to capture. My children dropped their belongings and ran into the sea at the first sight. There was no worry of loosing anything. It was purely down to trust that it will be safe when they are done with all the frolicking.

I am a British national, born in India and currently living in Dubai. Art has been a passion since my art lessons at school. I have grown up capturing my vision of the world with pencils and paintbrushes. While using the camera to capture inspiration and ideas for my canvas’s I started to enjoy the possibilities that the images could portray. I have not stopped clicking since and everything I know is self-taught. With encouragement from friends and families I have filled up lots of personal albums. I am hoping to soon be able to study it professionally so I can understand the technical side to the images and improve myself with every picture. I enjoy black and white, landscape, still life and HDR photography. I use the Nikon D60 with Tamron aspherical 18 – 200mm and Nikon 55mm.
