Canadian Navy Trainers by Chris Horner

This shot “Canadian Navy Trainers” was taken over the Detroit River, on the border of the United States and Canada. Canadian Navy pilots were showing off their flying skills after the 2010 Red Bull Air Race this past June. The overcast sky really helped the striking yellow of the planes to pop in the image. Here the pilots had come in low over the crowd, and now were aiming for higher altitudes to continue their aerobics over Detroit and Windsor. While the Air Race was itself quite exciting, it was equally entertaining to see professional pilots show off their skills in close quarter flying.

Chris Horner is a freelance photographer based in Ann Arbor, MI USA. Chris started becoming serious about photography about two years ago. His main topic of interest is in capturing urban scenes. Chris started primarily with this theme, and then carried his photography skills into another area that he loves – vehicles and racing. Others began taking notice of his work through what he shared on the web and in person. Soon he was creating fine art prints for people to enjoy in their homes and offices. That in turn got the attention of some local small business owners, who started requesting Chris to create images they could use in their marketing. Chris is looking to grow his commercial business since he has always enjoyed working with other entrepreneurs and helping business owners find success in their endeavors.
