Hot Air Balloons Flying over Putrajaya, by Zain Abdullah

This photograph was taken on the last day of the first Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Putrajaya, Malaysia’s new administrative capital last year. On that day the weather seemed to be very bright and clear which resulted in the flattering and warm lighting in the late evening. Since I went there early I had the opportunity to choose the right location and plan my shots in advance. I positioned myself to capture the hot air balloons flying over the man-made Putrajaya Lake with the Putra Mosque and the Putra Perdana buildings at the background which are the two prominent landmarks of Putrajaya. The colorful hot air balloons were beautifully illuminated by the low-angled warm sunlight in the late evening on that memorable day.

You have beautifully captured the memory of Putra Jaya in organizing her first International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. It will alive there forever on your photo.

Photographs are like painting. Painting the world with light as replacement to ink. With camera instead of brushes. Yet one thing still hasn’t change and that is the painter holding the camera painting the world so beautifully. Thank you, to you sir and to all the painters of world.
