Flames of Hell by Aude-Emilie Dorion
This photograph was taken in Koh Phi-Phi Island on January 7, 2010. Phi-Phi could be one of these paradise islands if the mass tourism wasn’t reigning there. This shot was almost my only inspiration there, caught in all the violence and sins. Some people say that the soil here did not have the time to recover from the tragic deaths caused by the tsunami. Since then the flames of hell are burning.

Freelance photographer and writer Aude-Emilie Dorion was born in France in 1980. Sensitive to the effect of globalization on modern cultures and the inequity of the world’s economic development, tensions and transformations are at the heart of her creative work. Working in the live performance industry, photography from time to time became the best vector of communication. Aude-Emilie loves artistic photography but has always been attracted by social documentary and photojournalism. When the Art becomes more social and political it reaches one of its primary functions: raising public awareness, acting as a catalyst for political changes.

What a gorgeous shot! It looks almost ethereal. Well done!
Great Shot – Fighting fire with fire!
I love to be able to take a photo like that one day. A really top shot, love the colours of the fire.
Great shot. I like the way the rope & flames draw the viewer through the picture towards the smoke or combustive gases at the far right. Then when I read the story that goes with your awesome photo I was really drawn in to it by the spirituality attached to the burning fire. Deep !! :o) I like this very much. Thank you for sharing it with us. Hans :o)
its an brilliant catch.love the framing as well.
Nice work Aude! Love it.
Awesome. Nice work!
Good framing and focusing here. Color space is also good; not too warm, not too red. Quality shot.
Wow, this is one of those magical shots where the feeling goes beyond the mere image. An amazing shot :)
