Cakes, by Bill Wilson
Everyone loves a birthday party. My fiancee’s family was excited to celebrate the first birthday of the newest member of the family – Avalyn. Her great-grandparents hosted the birthday party at their farm, and many of the cousins, uncles, and aunts brought treats and presents. These were some of the cupcakes made for Avalyn’s party. Stacked as they were, it presented a perfect situation to capture an image with a small depth of field.

Bill is an artist. Photography is the most exciting way to demonstrate this to those around him. Recently relocated to Austin, Texas from Chicago, Illinois, he considers himself a Midwesterner through and through. Appreciation for the beauty around him and the enjoyment he gains from consistently taking up new challenges were the two motivations behind his initial foray into photography. As the interest turned into a hobby, Bill has taken different steps to develop his craft such as taking a summer course on photography and investing much time in learning new software. The journey will never be complete, though, and he is still learning new things every day. He hopes that his images can play a small role in helping others understand how awesome God is.
