Staying Balanced, by Joe Azure
I took a walk down by the shores of Lake Tahoe, but went down the wrong trail with no time to go back and try again. On the way down the hill I saw this log sitting on a rock and decided to photograph it. This location is located on the NE shore of the lake, so in the summer it is best suited for sunset shots. This specific evening presented with very few clouds in the sky, but some very nice color shades after the sun had gone down past the mountains.

Joe Azure is a native Alaskan from the seaside town of Sitka, who currently calls San Francisco, California home. Sitka is a small and thriving seaside town surrounded by the Tongass National Forest. In contrast, San Francisco is a bustling city surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. Azure finds that he enjoys urban locations and man-made objects in many of his landscape images, which are often shot along the city shoreline where past constructions are slowly being reclaimed by the sea. Though some people call it “Urban Decay” – he calls it fascinating! Living in such beautiful, diverse and culturally rich places, Joe has developed an appreciation of the natural world that he enjoys sharing through his photography.
