Camouflaged, by Kurien Koshy Yohannan

It’s sometimes difficult to understand why birds have the colours and markings they have; it’s only when you see the birds in the context of their natural habitat does it become clear as can be seen from this image that I captured while out on a recent walk in Scotland. All that I could hear initially was the song of the bird coming from somewhere on the ground and it was very difficult to spot the bird at first. But a brief rustling gave its location away and when it briefly peeked out, I managed to capture this image.
