All Roads Lead to San Antonia de Los Cobres, by Nilla Palmer

Tren de las Nubes (train to/in the clouds), travels on the third highest railway in the world (over 4,220mts/ 13,850ft) and leaves from Salta, Argentina. The journey passes through San Antonio de los Cobres, known for its copper mining. After 217kms winding through switchbacks, desolate, and spectacular scenery, the train arrived at La Polvorilla viaduct where it was bitterly cold and snowing.

Nilla Palmer’s natural desire to travel and photograph many parts of the world started 27 years ago, although her photography addiction started with her first 110mm film camera as a child. This eventually progressed to 35mm cameras as a teenager and a photography course, which also taught B&W darkroom techniques. Later, more study in Communications Design and Multimedia increased her desire to experiment further with composition and light.
Nilla’s intent is to reveal a story through her images for an audience, which she hopes inspires and encourages people to visit far off lands. Without a strict genre that she adheres to, Nilla captures whatever strikes her at a precise moment. Although her work includes a variety of themes, capturing the essence of a candid moment is her passion; an unguarded second in a frozen in time. She invites everyone to enjoy her gallery and feel free to contact her with any comments.
