Gazing in Color, by Shahnaz Parvin
It was in Shakhari Bazar, during the time of Holi – the festival of color, where I saw this kid. Covering with all the colors, he was playing there with his friends, celebrating and throwing colors to everyone. Then when I was about to take his photograph, he suddenly stood still and was looking directly towards my camera.

I love the style of this photograph. The vivid, high contrast colors and sharpness of the eye really express the subject. I love the way you have used a wide aperture to give blur as your eye moves away from the subject’s eye. The contrast of the bright colors, deep blacks and the stark white of the subject’s eye draws me into the image. I also love that you can see the reflection of the photographer in the subject’s iris. Well done!
