Beavers Bend State Park Shale Rock, by Tisha Clinkenbeard
One of our favorite parks to go to for fishing, camping, and hiking is Beavers Bend State Park. It is a 1,300 acre Oklahoma state park located in McCurtain County. In floods several years ago, the Mountain Fork River raged, exposing the beautiful shale of the river bed as the geologic base to the river which runs thru the park.
