Fresh Cherry Tomatoes, by Ola Cedell
To create more depth in the photo I placed a second cherry tomato in the background. To make it more fresh, I scattered some water on the tomatoes. Focus was made where the stem meets the fruit. This is where I want the viewer to look first and be able to determine its a tomato before exploring the other part of the photo. The size of the stem in relation to the fruit will help the viewer to determine the actual size of the fruit.
-Working distance 25 to 30 cm. I used f/2.8 to have enough depth of field.
-Exposure +0.3EV (multi-zone or matrix metering). Even though it’s a dark background, I needed add some exposure compensation to get some highlights in the tomato to create a three dimensional/round tomato.
