Summer Dream by Kirsten Bruening
The poppy was and is a plant full of secrets and symbols. The special beauty of the poppy flower, combined with its remarkably rapid transience, has already inspired poets and painters to deal with this plant. Worldwide the poppy is a symbol of remembrance of the numerous nameless victims of war. This photograph was taken on a warm summer evening on a hike with our dog. It had just rained and the field with the poppies and grain plants was a nice contrast to our walk.
