Old Man at Chandni Chowk by Shirren Lim
Incredible India has always been on my bucket list for ever so long. Finally I made the trip to explore Northern India in late 2018 early 2019. There were a few places I wanted to visit in Delhi, my first stop city. We went to Chandni Chowk market area on a Sunday morning. The sreets weren’t crowded as most of the shops were closed on a Sunday. We were meandering along one of the quieter street when I chanced upon this old man sitting in one of the alleys.

Shirren Lim is a Malaysian photographer living in Jakarta, Indonesia. She took up photography in 2009, as she thought it would be an interesting habit, later she discovered it as her true passion. Shirren loves portraiture best. With her photo-taking, she tries and do justice to capture humanity in its many forms. Shirren’s work has been described as intense and earthy with her simple composition cutting to the heart of the subject matter. As a child, she had flipped through many of her father’s National Geographic magazines, but it was Steve McCurry’s 1984 “Afghan Girl” that she recall two decades later. That is what she wants to do with her life. She believes, someday, she is able to capture that one moment that could change the world. Her work has exhibited and also appeared in several web and printed magazines.
