Candid Moments at Batu Caves by Montasir Khandker

Located near the equator, the climate of Malaysia is hot and humid throughout the year. The average rainfall is 250 centimeters a year in the country, which is good enough to get drenched as rain comes suddenly here. This is why, in Malaysia, carry an umbrella or feel the rain on the skin; drench yourself. This picture, however, was taken at Batu Caves. Located at Gombak district in Selangor, the Batu Caves is one of the hot spots among the tourists come to Malaysia. It is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and it is said to be around 400 million years old. However, there are 272 concrete steps from the ground to climb up in the caves or to get down from the caves. So, in a country like Malaysia where it rains suddenly almost every day during the monsoon- be it Southwest or Northeast, if the tourists don’t carry an umbrella with them, it’s better to get wet, better to enjoy the rain.
