The Drak Reflect Double Shadows by Karthick Saravanan
In the vibrant early hours of the morning at the Koyambedu flower market in Chennai, a captivating scene unfolds. Amidst the bustling aisles filled with the fragrance of fresh blooms, a man finds himself framed by a curved archway, standing as a silent observer to the day's bustling activities. On either side of this arch, two men are engrossed in their tasks, a snapshot of daily life in this lively marketplace.
Above them, hanging lights cast a warm glow over the stalls, illuminating the myriad of colors and textures of the flowers that adorn the shop. These lights, more than mere fixtures, are like beacons of hope and energy, mirroring the hustle and spirit of the market workers as they update the day's offerings, preparing for the influx of customers seeking the beauty of nature encapsulated in petals and leaves.
This photograph, a cherished piece from a college collection, captures more than just a moment; it encapsulates the essence of daily life in one of Chennai's most spirited locales, showcasing the beauty, labor, and transient moments of connection that define the human experience.
Healthy Steamed Fish by Rodrigo Aliaga
The scope of this photo is to see the fish and the garnishes in an appetizing way. The plate and table are white to highlight the dish. I used a colored napking in a color that contrast with the color of the fish. The cilantro leave gives a fresh look, and the leaves are sprayed with water to give it freshness.
Ivy’s Straw by Leanne Lindsay
Two Ponytails, by Shirren Lim inspired me to take this photograph of a little girl with pig tails enjoying playing with a straw. It was her birthday, and everyone was gathered around to celebrate but she was more interested in playing with the straw. This photograph was taken with my Nikon Z7ii and Sigma Art 24-70mm lens at 62mm, with an aperture of 2.8, a shutter speed of 1/100 seconds and an ISO of 160.
