[mashshare align="right"]In this “Exclusive Interview” section, today we have the opportunity to talk with Sudeep Mehta, as his photograph was winner of Photo of the Month – 59th Month, 1st Place. Let’s discover more about Sudeep Mehta, and his forays into photography in the following interview with him.
Light & Composition: Greetings from Light & Composition, Sudeep. How does it feel being selected as the winner of Photo of the Month, 59th Month, 1st Place?
Sudeep Mehta: Winning this Light & Composition’s award is a remarkable feeling. I’m honored.
L&C: Your photograph “Light up My World” was selected as Photo of the Month, is a wonderful Artistic Photography Photography with artistic perspective, correct lighting, and very well presented. Overall, a great composition! Tell us more about your experience of taking this photograph.
Sudeep: On the day of Sharad Purnima (Harvest Festival), in Mumbai, India more than 100 thousand earthen lamps are lit. Thousands of devotees come every year to celebrate this festival. The girl in this picture was lighting earthen lamps that were placed around a tree. I quickly climbed up the tree to capture this Ariel view.
L&C: Besides this winning photograph, many people liked and voted for other photographs of yours in the Photo of the Month contest. You must be proud. How do you see your journey to the world of photography so far?
Sudeep: I love to take photos. There’s this shutterbug in me. INSANE! (as my friends say). I have been doing this for nearly 7 years. Having vast experience of shooting various weddings, portraits, and products in India, USA, Mexico, over the Caribbean Islands and so on. This job makes me live a different life every day and it’s an amazing lifestyle.
L&C: As we know, you are originally from Mumbai. Do you think the rich diverse cultural and artistic heritage of Mumbai portrayed a different essence to you?
Sudeep: One Hundred Percent! Mumbai is the city of dreams, where you find a vast variety of culture including the rich and the poor thriving for survival. You don’t get to see such moments everywhere. I’ll always be thankful to the city and its people for adding that essence in me.
L&C: Do you like a particular genre of photography and if so, why?
Sudeep: I like to shoot the weddings, events and all the other projects that I get in a journalistic way. That’s my personal taste as it speaks a story of itself rather than a flat and clichéd image.
L&C: One of the keys to any style of photography is visualization. Please tell us how you started this process and what you did afterwards.
Sudeep: Visualization and the power of imagination of a photographer is something that makes me a ‘photographer’. For me, it’s an entire emotional-mental process of creating a photograph. Now it has become a habit before taking the final exposure.
L&C: Have you ever exhibited your work? If so, then tell us about your first exhibiting experience.
Sudeep: My work has got exhibited at 5 places internationally till date. My first exhibition was at a local nature photography event. I had clicked few random nature photographs where some got selected to be displayed. The best feeling was the first time that people saw my pictures and appreciated. That’s what an artist desires.
L&C: What advice would you give our readers who want to take part in the journey around the world with photography?
Sudeep: Be original. When you are original, you are different. Everyone has their own unique vision. Share ‘your’ perspective with the world. It’s got to be Photo of the Day for someone.
L&C: Thank you, Sudeep, for sharing your feelings and experiences with us.
I am not sure, how much great photographer he is or he shows to be one “excellent photographer with an excessive knowledge of photography”.
By looking at his work and posts online, unfortunately I falled into his trap and hired him for my wedding, biggest mistake of life. A simple advise if anyone looking to hire Sudeep Mehta for any kind of photography, simple NO. 3 Simple words explains it all UNPROFESSIONAL, UNETHICAL AND UNWORTHY. I had a very bad experience by hiring him, he never responded to any of my call/messages and not even an email. He will depict his personality in a way that he is the only excellent photographer and the worlds busiest person. He doesn’t have time to respond to an email (even Donald Trump and Narendra Modi will have time if you email them).
Save yourself and your money from hiring him.
I personally know Sudeep. He is a wonderful person and a Amazing photographer. He have captured almost all of my family events. You doesn’t need to tell him about what all pictures you want….just have faith in him and he will capture the best moments of your life. Cheers to this man and his hardwork.
Thank You Sumit for the wonderful review here! Cheers Bro
