This food photograph titled garlic was taken with a Canon 20D camera and a 50mm lens with one Multiblitz 250W studio light. It was a photography exercise vegetable / still life photography with one flashlight in an improvised studio in my apartment back in 2005. I also used one softbox 70cm.

Are you craving for a beefsteak? Just take a look of this photograph, the texture, the fibers of the meat, the salt grains, even the parsley leaves looks tasty. Do you agree? The best perspective to see a dish and its details is the "eye level". A black background, so the meat highlighted. And of course the fried yucca in the back gives you the real flavor of the grilled steak.
Principles of Baking Bread by Rodrigo Aliaga
The biggest challenge of this photo was to arrange the elements in order to tell a story. So I decided to set the different kinds of bread around the basic ingredients. The artistic touch I think is the yolk on the top of the flour. Emulates a big fried egg.
