Anindya Chakraborty is a self-taught photographer from Kolkata. He is a software engineer by profession, who started photography in 2006. He is gravitating towards documentary photography, and during his stay in United States, did a series on Bodie Ghost Town, New Orleans, Broken American Dreams, and finally Last Few Months. Some of his work was published in Picsean Travel Magazine and National Geographic. Anindya’s photograph Sunset over the Canyon in the category of Sunrise & Sunset Photography, scored 72 (Value 13.5, Clarity 14, Composition 17.5, Style 13, Skill 14) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition. The number of Tweets and Facebook shares, StumbleUpon Organic Views boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 4.32 from social media (Facebook Share 1.87, Tweets 1.75, StumbleUpon Organic View 0.5, Comments 0.2), and in total 76.32, the highest score in this competition for the 18th Month. Our team decided to honor these top scorers as 2nd and 3rd places with a page in the next issue of our magazine, where the photographers will share their stories of these photographs. We will also publish their interviews in the Exclusive Interview section on our Web.

Jan Møller Hansen is a self-taught and passionate photographer with a main interest in people and their lives. His work is mainly based on social documentary and street photography. He is a diplomat and development practitioner and presently serves as the Danish Deputy Ambassador to Bangladesh. His interest in photography stems from international development assistance, diplomacy and travelling in Asia and Africa during the last 25 years.
