Yousef Deeb is a passionate photographer, lives in Gaza, Palestine. He works as a photographer in Zain Pannet website and for a French press agency. He is spending his career life perusing the smile, moments, and features on people faces from his country. On November 24, 2012, his photograph The Key of Hope, taken in al Shate’a Camp, Gaza, Palestine, was awarded in the Photo of the Day contest in the category of Documentary Photography, as it scored a solid 72 (Value 13, Clarity 13.5, Composition 18, Style 14, Skill 13.5) from our international jury of 5. The number of Tweets, Facebook shares, and StumbleUpon Organic Views boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 4.935 from social media (Facebook Share 3.15, Tweets 0.75, StumbleUpon Organic View 1.035, and Comments 0), and in total 76.935, the highest score in this competition for the 30th Month. This photograph is the winner of Photograph of the Month – 30th Month, 1st Place.
We will publish a special interview with Yousef Deeb in the Photographer with Style section of the magazine, and the Exclusive Interview section on our website.Based on the social media responses awarded photographs received on the 30th month, we set the maximum number of Facebook Like at 500, Tweet at 100, Stumble at 5000, and our subscribers Comments at 50. For this month, we had a head-to-head contest between the top scorers and the photographs that scored the highest became winners of the Photo of the Month. Our team decided to honor these top scorers as 2nd and 3rd places with a page in the next issue of our magazine, where the photographers will share their stories of these photographs. Ismawan was born in Cottesloe, Australia, in 1972, the first of three sons. Back to Indonesia at his early age, he spent his childhood in Malang, a small town in East Java province, Indonesia, until his high school time. That was when he became interested in photography and started using his father’s pocket camera to take pictures. Ismawan’s photograph Smile…! in the category of Portrait Photography, scored 69 (Value 13.5, Clarity 13, Composition 17, Style 12.5, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition. The number of Tweets and Facebook shares, StumbleUpon Organic Views boosted the popularity of the photograph a bit, raising its score to 4.013 from social media (Facebook Share 2.35, Tweets 1, StumbleUpon Organic View 0.663, Comments 0), and in total 73.013.
