Mehmet Masum Suer is a Kurdish international photographer and freelance journalist lives in the city of Diyarbakir in Turkey. He began his career as a journalist in 1974, and then worked for different agencies and newspapers of Turkey as a reporter, photo-journalist, writer, redactor and representative. He quit journalism after 1993, and got involved on his researches about history, culture and language. Mehmet Masum Suer has been taking photos professionally in different fields besides photojournalism since 2005. Suer takes pictures of historic places and buildings especially from the cities of Diyarbakir, Mardin, Van and Hasankeyf. His photo Loss! was awarded in the Photo of the Day contest in the category of Candid Photography, as it scored a solid 73 (Value 14, Clarity 13.5, Composition 18, Style 13.5, Skill 14) from our international jury of 5. For this month, we had a head-to-head contest between the top scorers and the photographs that scored the highest became winners of the Photo of the Month. Our team decided to honor these top scorers as 2nd and 3rd places with a page in the next issue of our magazine, where the photographers will share their stories of these photographs. Avishek Das is an Indian born photographer. Over the past 4 years he has been associated with this field of photography. He is one of the active members of Indian Visual Arts Foundation & Photo Journalist at Creative Studio. His photographs and writings have already been published in different websites in national level. He has taken his photography training from Sayan Sarkar (FFIP , AFIAP), who is one of the eminent photographers of India. Avishek’s area of attraction are on Street, Nature, and Creative Photography, however recently he has also been focusing on Monochrome photography based on Indian Visual Arts & Culture.. Avishek’s photograph The Third Dimension, in the category of Abstract Photography scored 71 (Value 13.5, Clarity 13.5, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition. Saniar Rahman Rahul was fascinated by seeing his father taking pictures with a camera while his family was in Iraq during his childhood. Later in life, in 1997, while he became very much attached with his profession of graphic design, Rahul rediscovered the creative side of photography. Lothar Seifert was born 1955 in Germany. He lives in a small village in Upper Lusatia surrounded by wonderful nature. He is currently working as a design engineer, specialist for occupational safety and environmental officer. Over time, photography has become an important part-time of his employment. Lothar Seifert’s journey in Asia, his friendly relations with the people of various religions in Nepal, Kashmir, Ladakh and India, has learned him to love the road and portrait photography. The motivating impulses from these Asian countries are limitless.
