Saniar Rahman Rahul was fascinated by seeing his father taking pictures with a camera while his family was in Iraq during his childhood. Later in life, in 1997, while he became very much attached with his profession of ‘graphic design’, Rahul rediscovered the creative side of photography. He started his career as a professional graphic designer in October of 1995, in a pre-press house called Color Scan, which is one of the pioneers in the pre-process printing media in Bangladesh. Moving to advertising from printing media was a big step for him. In 2005, he joined G3, a special wing of Gray Worldwide. Two years later, he moved to Paper Rhyme. Now he is working as the Art Director of Grey World Wide, one of the ten largest advertising agencies in the world. Saniar’s photograph Indian Silverbills awarded in the Photo of the Day Award in the category of Wildlife Photography, as it scored a solid 71 (Value 13, Clarity 13, Composition 18, Style 13.5, Skill 13.5) from our international jury of 5. Shahnaz Parvin is a passionate Bangalee, and resides in Bangladesh. Though she is doing a job as system admin in a PSI company, her real passion lays in photography and learning it. Shahnaz mostly loves documentary photography, and loves to represent her country Bangladesh through her lens. Shahnaz’s photograph Heartfelt Smile awarded in the Photo of the Day Award in the category of Portraiture Photography, as it scored a solid 69.5 (Value 12.5, Clarity 12, Composition 18.5, Style 13.5, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5. Jens Hieke was born in 1967 and lives in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany. Though he was a graduate librarian, but working for a broadcaster for some time. He was always fascinated by the unlimited diversity of the world, and only a few years ago he discovered photography as a wonderful possibility to capture the transient, constantly changing beauty of humans, animals and things. Actually a man of words, the passion for photography is more than an addition to his other love, the literature.
