Michiko Matsumoto was born in Shizuoka, Japan in 1950. In 1974 she got her B.A. in Japanese literature from Hosei University. She started photography in the early 1980s with several series of portraits of artists living in various countries and famous dancers of major dance companies. Later she published 10 books in the field of photography. Michiko’s photograph The Tokyo Bay and the traditional house boats in the category of Night Photography scored 73 (Value 14, Clarity 13, Composition 18, Style 14, Skill 14) from our international jury of 5.
