Born in Penang Island, Malaysia, in 1970, Shirren would find herself moving cities over the course of her life. She is now based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Shirren took up photography in 2009, as she thought it would be an interesting habit, later she discovered it as her true passion. Shirren loves portraitures best. To her, the expressions people wear are so beautiful, so telling, so uncovered in their sincerity. Lothar Seifert was born 1955 in Germany. He lives in a small village in Upper Lusatia surrounded by wonderful nature. He is currently working as a design engineer, specialist for occupational safety and environmental officer. Over time, photography has become an important part-time of his employment. Lothar Seifert’s journeys in Asia, his friendly relations with the people of various religions in Nepal, Kashmir, Ladakh and India, has learned him to love the road and portrait photography. Lothar’s photograph Hornets in My Garden, in the category of Close-Up Photography scored a solid 70 (Value 13, Clarity 13, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition.
