Two Ponytails, by Shirren Lim
Born in Penang Island, Malaysia, in 1970, Shirren would find herself moving cities over the course of her life. She is now based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Shirren took up photography in 2009, as she thought it would be an interesting habit, later she discovered it as her true passion. Shirren loves portraitures best. To her, the expressions people wear are so beautiful, so telling, so uncovered in their sincerity. With her photo-taking, she tries and does justice to capture humanity in its many forms. A Road by the Rice Field, by Ryszard Wierzbicki
Ryszard Wierzbicki was born in 1963. Graduated with a Master degree of Social Sciences in Children Care Education from University of Gdańsk in 1992 in Poland. He worked in an orphanage and four other companies, going through positions of Educator, Marketing Specialist and Sales & Marketing Manager in various branches (child care, dentistry, orthodontics and IT). Apart of his regular jobs he continued developing his Scuba Diving qualification resulted of an instructor level in PADI. Emigrated to UK in 2006, from where he started his real traveling & photography experience and exploration of South-East Asia. Ryszard’s photograph “A Road by the Rice Field”, in the category of Close-Up Photography scored a solid 68.5 (Value 13, Clarity 13, Composition 18, Style 12.5, Skill 12) from our international jury of 5. Meerkoet, by Rob van der Waal
Rob van der Waal was born in 1957 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. His father was a passionate photographer who taught him the basics of photography. When he was 7 years old, his family already had a darkroom on the top floor of their family house. His dad was on the edge of what was possible those days, using 2 Leica M3 bodies, and was developing black/white and color films by himself and with some modifications to his equipment, created images of 40x60cm. Waal’s photograph Meerkoet, in the category of Portraiture Photography scored a solid 68 (Value 13, Clarity 12, Composition 18, Style 12, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5. Mehmet Masum Suer is a documentary photographer and freelance journalist living in city of Diyarbakir in Turkey. He began his career as a journalist in 1974, then worked for different agencies and newspapers of Turkey as a reporter, photo-journalist, writer, redactor and representative. He quit journalism after 1993, and got involved on his researches about history, culture and language. Mehmet Masum Suer has been taking photos professionally in different fields besides photojournalism since 2005. Mehmet’s photograph “Hawk of Hevsel”, in the category of Wildlife Photography scored a solid 68 (Value 12.5, Clarity 12.5, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 12) from our international jury of 5. The number of organic and total social share along with the organic reach and comments boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 8.825 from social media (Organic Share 3.59, Total Share 4.53, Organic Reach/View 0.7055, and Comments 0), and in total 76.825, the forth highest score in this competition for the 87th Month. Yasef Imroze Ifaz is originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has completed his Undergraduate and Post-graduate degree from Australia. He is currently working in the Financial Services industy. Photography is a hobby that he picked up recently. He is into close up and landscape photography, mostly. He believes, that photography has totally changed his perception towards nature. Yasef loves to portray the beauty of his country Bangladesh through his lenses.
