Azhar Hafeez
Muhammad Azhar Hafeez born in 10 August, 1971, Phirala, Faisalabad, Pakistan. He studied Bachelors in Graphic Design/Photography 1993 from National College of Arts Lahore Pakistan. Currently he is working as Senior Computer Graphic Designer in IT Department, Pakistan Television Corporation Islamabad. 22 years ago, Azhar started photography as he like shoot and analyze people. Most of his photographs are with his own ideas. He has an intuitive feel for world he inhabits and he is convinced that this must be strongest when he squints through the lens. He believes, one has to be honest with oneself first and then the picture will be good. One must feel first. Sometimes when he clicks the camera there is another click in his heart, and sometimes he knows the picture will be horrible”. Hs is working continuously to stretch himself and ambiance change. Azhar’s photographs are characteristically untitled. He also believes, “a picture or a work of art needs not to be categorized”. He approached photography as an art from the beginning. There are no photography schools in Pakistan, specialized in teaching all kinds of photography. Moreover, in Pakistan there are no museums for art photography, even the art museums don’t show photography artwork. Being an Art Photographer Azhar has to work for commercial to enrich my bread & butter. He traveled throughout Pakistan for his photography. He works as a free-lance photographer, graphic designer, Director and Teacher. He loves to be free in his work to do what he is interested in. He loves to learn new things always, things related to art, to life itself. Azhar’s 4th solo show took place on 6th of September 2011 in nomad art gallery Islamabad, Pakistan.
