Manila, Philippines. José Santos began his career as a student journalist at the University of Santo Tomas. He became a photo correspondent for Tudla Productions, Focus Taiwan (CNA), NurPhoto Agency, and a contributor to Bulatlat. In 2018, he started his personal documentary project focused on the political situation and human interest stories related to social justice in the Philippines.

In April 2023, José Santos organized a significant exhibit themed “Impunity and Press Freedom,” showcasing works from various media practitioners and archivists in the Philippines. The exhibit was held at Silingan Coffee, Stall 09, Cubao Expo.
