Simon J. Marlan

Born in Newcastle, NSW, Simon J. Marlan started bush-walking at the age of six. He first traveled overseas at the age of 13, and spent 8 months backpacking westward from S.E. Asia to the U.K. This was followed by a journey to S. America 18 months later, travelling through Brasil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, returning to Australia via the U.S. Some time later, a short journey to San Francisco and Phoenix, Arizona followed. Traveled to Africa in mid 2014, visiting Zanzibar, Dar Es Salaam, then heading west through Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia, before travelling down the west coast to S. Africa, then along the Garden Route before flying back home via Johannesburg. From late July 2016, he will be travelling back to Africa, this time to Johannesburg, then up through Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, then Lesotho, the Drakensburg region, then back into S. Africa to visit Kruger N.P. then across to Madagascar.
