Rich in dietary fiber, minerals and vitamins, almonds are well-balanced food principles that are essential for optimum health and wellness. They are delicious, and often eaten on its own, raw or toasted. Almonds are also a component of various dishes, and available in many forms, such as whole, sliced (flaked, slivered), and as flour. They are the fruits from medium size deciduous tree, native to mineral-rich West-Asian mountain ranges that provide fertile conditions favorable for their growth.
