A Rite of Passage

Do you ever wonder why some food makes us nostalgic? How the fragrance of a curry mixture transports you back to a foreign street in your home or makes you yearn for your mother’s mouth-watering cooking? When we begin to cherish our memories, we remember mama’s special curry, nana’s scrumptious cake, and we feel really proud when handed over these treasured recipes, as if a family secret is revealed. This is like a rite of passage, part of growing up. We treasure those recipes, which we only share amongst family.
