Backstory
Poverty has an adverse effect on people of the world, and for a child, it can be gruesome. It happens every day, though. You can find it everywhere around you. Can you feel the effect of it upon you? I recently stumbled upon this photograph, and it made me wonder about the backstory of the boy in the picture.
Every subject of a photograph has a backstory. Consider the paperboy in the picture from the Kamalapur railway station, with his customer buying the paper. Boys like him do their job on behalf of some newsstand. Most of them stay outside the capital and come to Dhaka every day for the job, returning after they finish.
One ponders the boys’ long lost childhood. Does this picture make us wonder about the reality of life? Or is it just another thought in our day? Send your thoughts.
