Elusive Silence
How do you want life to be…very calm, peaceful or adventurous? How many times do you want to shut your ears as easily as you can shut your eyes to experience silence completely? And, would you want to do this to feel peace? The world is never devoid of silence. We live faster and faster-paced lives but deep down we crave to stop for one instance; take a bow down to life’s little tidbits. But we are always too short of time and always hurried. And then suddenly on your way home, you are forced to stop! You close your eyes in the middle of the chaos and begin to hear sounds; a sound or some ethereal tune?
You suddenly begin to feel your heart beat with the rhythm. In that moment, you realize that you’ve found your peace. Even for a brief moment, during the commotion. You admit in your heart that perhaps you found this elusive silence in your fast-paced life whilst experiencing this moment.
When I look at the photograph of this beautiful moment, which is taken so deftly by Photographer Lakshmi Prabhala (Hyderabad, India), I feel this photo incites me to feel those rare emotions when we can face our inner peace. It was a dim lit winter morning in Charminar, which is usually surrounded by pigeons as many visitors feed these pigeons. The flutter of the wings on a slow shutter speed does look dramatic with so many birds. While Hyderabad is a progressive city making rapid strides in the IT sector, there is another side to Hyderabad that is laid-back and unflappable.
Does this moment capture your emotions like it has done to me? Share your thoughts.
