In the Arms of Your Loved Ones
The child on the boy’s back is his sister. He is taking her home out of harm’s way from the fires the local ploughmen set to weeds on their cultivated lands…notice the look in the child’s face. Is it one of fear and tremor…is her brother her savior? Does this bring back forgotten memories from your childhood? Once, when I was young, I was lost in the marketplace. Although I went there with my parents, I wondered alone and whilst searching for toys, became lost. This happens to everyone; they were times when we could do anything and get away with mischievous deeds. Suddenly, I realised I was lost and looked everywhere for my parents. They were searching frantically and when they spotted me, they ran back. Safely in their arms, I learned that heaven lies only in the arms of your loved ones…no other safe place exists. Everyone has a savior, which is always family.
In this photograph by Tamal Debnath, my forgotten childhood memories resurface to relive my saviors. What haunts you? Share your stories and tell us about your saviors…we would love to hear about your experiences!
