Innocence

Kids always capture your emotions, whether it’s in their smile, their sadness, or their innocence. They are good at snagging our attention. What is it that gives us pause? Their innocence? Their simpless that we crave to have in this complex world? Or is it the raw emotion they can exhibit through their eyes? Why do we want to be child again? Surely its not because we want to run from our responsibilities, though it must entice us. Perhaps we want to be a child again to take back our innocence. The days of our lost innocence, those days which can take our soul nearer to ourselves.

Look at the photograph taken by photographer Anup Kar (Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India). Look at her sad eyes. What can you fathom in those eyes? Are those polluted eyes creating a shield? In those eyes, which yearn for something, can you feel those raw emotions? The photo made me counter against the innocence that is long gone…what is it doing to you?
