Leap of Faith
What do you do when you have no choice left and still all you want is to make everything right? When you want to believe that things won’t fall apart, that life is beautiful and there’s meaning of it all, in the midst of that deep dark moment when you’re desperate and alone, all you can do is to hang on for some more time and take a leap of faith. Have a look at the photograph below. Do you think this old man can be the perfect example of hope and a leap of faith?
The picture has been taken by Yousef Deeb from Gaza, Palestine. This passionate photographer was working on a documentary project in al Shate’a Camp in Gaza and captured this old man there. To me, the man in the photograph is the epitome of hope and faith. He is holding the key of his house that had been extorted by the Israeli forces in 1948, but he still clings to his memories as much as to faith of going home till now.
Today, looking at this helplessly hopeful old man, I take a leap of faith too; to believe that someday all these injustices will end and somehow all these people will return to their homes, the dream of which still sparkles in their sad foggy eyes. Today, seeing this hopeful poor old man, I take a leap of faith to believe that someday soon this world will become a place of justice where all shall live in peace and dignity in their land.
