Pinky Swear in Retrospect

Remember when we were kids how important a Pinky Swear was to us?

It was the ultimate swearing to secrecy, something you could never reveal to another soul; the ultimate pact of silence. Who stole from the cookie jar, who broke mom’s favorite vase, who let the tarantula loose…not one single word. Years later, after we’d almost forgotten about the pacts, when we siblings now sit together and start reminiscing of days gone by, stories start to surface. We don’t get scolded anymore, rather, share a laugh together, kind of makes it worthwhile to keep those secrets for all these years.

Just like the kids of Tibet in the photograph by Mercedes Noriega are going to enjoy their little secret from today onwards.
