The End of Eternal Wait

Do you know what a door stands for? Does it symbolize the end of an eternal wait? Is door a transition point which signifies our transformation from one point to another? When we enter home through a door, we close the shutter on the outside world, does this mean we have reached our destination? The transition is complete? Now this maybe another world we have to live in?
