To a Newer, Brighter, and Better Bangladesh
Being a Bangladeshi shouldn’t be about hating on Pakistan because of 1952 and 1971.
Being a Bangladeshi shouldn’t be about hating on India due to the current political situations and the way BSF treats the local Bangladeshi people at the borders.
Being a Bangladeshi shouldn’t be about hating our own fellow Bangladeshis.
Being a Bangladeshi shouldn’t only be about the emotion “hate”.
As a Bangladeshi we should be focusing on actions and changes. Our past should teach us about bravery, courage, patriotism, love, and fighting for freedom with passion. Our future should be enhanced by our history, not constricted.
Fight for beautiful changes, kindness and compassion with passion. True freedom will only be achieved then when the youth is strong, the country is strong. Nothing can then stop the country from progressing. No political party even. No neighboring country. We didn’t earn liberation to fall into illiteracy, ignorance and insecurity of our country’s resources and future. And it is we ourselves who can bring the change.
Taken by photographer Shahnaz Parvin, this wonderful photograph of a small boy depicting just that. The boy is wearing the color of its flag, red and green to glorify its joy of independence. He is the frontrunner of the next generation. His holding the flag and striving forwards with a smile on his face is a symbolic representation of the youth of our country moving forward and paving its way to a newer, brighter, and better Bangladesh.
