Then, one day we grow old, become weak, and our power to run is gone. The time comes when we stop for the calculation of the aftermath. What have we earned and what actually have we achieved? We also try to estimate our losses, but, in the end, the only question necessary to answer is “was it worth it?” Whatever the reply, can you make a graceful exit? Ultimately, we may find the answer within us but our acceptance of life can make our life worthwhile…

Laughter, the Art of Aging Gracefully, by Vijayasri Sanjevi

Photographer Vijayasri Sanjevi took this excellent photograph of an aged woman with a beautiful warm smile lingering her face. Taken at Kolkata, India, in a narrow street lane, this image depicts an old woman that has experienced a long life, perhaps a life converging many hardships but also joyous days. At almost the end of her life, still the laughter in her face takes away the loneliness in her eyes and instead, shows us the art of aging gracefully. Would you agree?
