This was the beginning of my exploration of the slums in the Smoky Mountain area. Smoky Mountain is a well-known district that is located on a garbage dump and has a characteristic view of the surrounding areas. I decided to do this trip on a one-day stopover in Manila. I hired a taxi driver for the day and we drove to the Smoky Mountain area. We met this gentleman at the very entrance to a narrow street “cut” out of a town cobbled together from corrugated iron and cardboard. He greeted us with a Victoria gesture.

Located not so far from Bangkok, I had a chance to have a boat trip with a woman who looked exactly like her ancient Siam Ancestors.
Bodhgaya Student by Ryszard Wierzbicki
Bodh Gaya is the most sacred Buddhist place and pilgrimage destination of many Buddha followers. It was here under a banyan tree, the Bodhi Tree, Gautama attained Enlightenment and become Buddha, the Enlightened One. Around Bodh Gaya there are villages of local communities where children do their study in very basic conditions as shown on this photography. Even in such limited environment kids are properly clothed is student uniforms.
