The Small Minivet is a small passerine bird, found in tropical southern Asia. It was photographed in Sundarbans in Feb 2022. The Small Minivet are widespread and common resident breeding bird in thorn jungle and scrub. The nest is a cup-like structure into which two to four spotted eggs are laid and incubated by the female. They catch insects in trees by flycatching or while perched.

The shikra is a small found widely in Asia and Africa. It was photographed in Sundarbans in Feb 2022. This bird is very similar in appearance to other sparrowhawk species including the Chinese goshawk and Eurasian sparrowhawk. They have a sharp two-note call and have the typical flap and glide flight.
